Invitation for feedback on revised cost recovery arrangements for accreditation of voluntary product stewardship arrangements

In February 2012, the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (the department) released for public comment the Consultation Paper on the Proposed Model for Accreditation of Voluntary Product Stewardship Arrangements (February 2012 Consultation Paper). Feedback obtained from this consultation is informing the development of a Ministerial Determination for the accreditation of voluntary product stewardship arrangements and regulations for application fees under the Product Stewardship Act 2011. A copy of the February 2012 Consultation Paper may be obtained at www.environment.gov.au/product-stewardship.

Following the public consultation on the February 2012 Consultation Paper the fees for the assessment of applications, contained in Appendix A, were revised. The detail of these revisions is outlined in the attached document, Revised Cost Recovery Arrangements for Accreditation of Voluntary Product Stewardship Arrangements (Revised Cost Recovery Paper). Specifically, changes have been made to section 4.3 relating to the costs to be included in fees.

Given the changes to the application fees, the department thought it appropriate that interested parties should be given the opportunity to provide comment on the revised fees. Written submissions on the Revised Cost Recovery Paper are sought by 22 June 2012. Submissions and the submission coversheet will be accepted by email or hardcopy sent to:
